Warm greetings from MDI Alumni Committee!

  Dear MDI Alumnus

Warm greetings from MDI Alumni Committee!

We, at Alumni Committee, are committed towards strengthening the ties with our alumni. The overwhelming response received at the National Alumni Meet 2009 is in large measure responsible for the lasting encouragement we get as a community.

Taking our humble efforts further, we have planned Regional Alumni Meets 2009 in the cities of London, Bangalore and Mumbai on the 9th, 23rd, 30th of May respectively. We look forward to seeing—and celebrating with—many of you at these upcoming alumni meets. We hope that you all look at your Alma Mater, MDI beyond just a business school and rather as lifelong community that we all proudly associate with.

We cordially invite you to the Regional Alumni Meets of MDI. You are most welcome to bring along your family and loved ones to provide them with a glimpse of the good old times.

The details of the event shall be communicated to you as soon they take up a definite shape. Looking forward eagerly to meet every ManDevIan from these cities and surrounding areas at these meets. Please cascade the invitation to your batch mates and fellow alumni members.

Hoping to see you there…it won't be the same without you!

The Human Capitalism Conclave

The Humane Capitalism Conclave-2009 to announce and launch “100 Caring Businesses and Business leaders” in India was held on 24th January 2009 at the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon.

About Humane Capitalism: Humane capitalism may be defined as the pursuit of profit to enrich society as a whole as compared to capitalism - the pursuit of profit to enrich shareholders. The word caring encompasses responsibility automatically as when you care for something you feel the responsibility for it too. After speaking with various corporate leaders in various forums and consulting people from various sectors we realized that Humane / Caring encompass responsibility. It’s like we care for our children, family and thus are automatically responsible towards them. Hence when we care as businesses for the social and environ-mental bottom - lines besides meeting the financial bottom-line we as businesses automatically become responsible towards the larger ecosystem by being humane and reaching out to see how we can make an impact by practicing the triple bottom-line approach. Humane capitalism as the nomenclature, was in fact suggested by one of our mentors, Anu Aga who is not only a respected living legend in the business sectors but also a woman entrepreneur and champion, very involved with social justice issues.
