Chag Sameach Sukkot from the Messianic Discipleship Institute
As we enter this joyful season of Sukkot, we want to wish you and your family a heartfelt Chag Sameach from all of us at the Messianic Discipleship Institute. This is the Feast of Rejoicing, the appointed time when Israel dwells in temporary shelters, remembers God’s faithfulness in the wilderness, and celebrates His provision with gladness.
The History of Sukkot — A Feast of Joy and Presence
Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, is one of the Shalosh Regalim, the three pilgrimage festivals commanded in Torah. For seven days, Israel was instructed to build and dwell in sukkot—temporary shelters—so future generations would remember how God covered, protected, and sustained His people as they journeyed from Egypt to the Promised Land.
It is a feast of joy, gratitude, and dwelling in God’s presence.
Sukkot and Yeshua — The Living Word Who Tabernacled Among Us
Every element of Sukkot points prophetically to Yeshua.
- He is the One who “tabernacled among us” (John 1:14).
- He is the Living Water poured out during the water‑drawing ceremony.
- He is the Light of the World, reflected in the great Temple lampstands lit during the feast.
- And He is the One who will reign during the future Messianic Kingdom when all nations come up to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot (Zechariah 14).
Sukkot reminds us that God desires to dwell with His people—and through Yeshua, He has made His dwelling in us.
